BASF today announced the launch of MAXFLASHTM liquid flashing membrane.  This provides restoration, air barrier, and wall systems’ contractors with a high performance flashing solution and the ability to quickly and easily address complex window configurations in a continuous, void- and pinhole-free manner.

MAXFLASH is a one-component elastomeric material for use as a flexible waterproof flashing membrane at rough openings. It can also be used to prepare sheathing joints for subsequent application of BASF air/water-resistive barrier membranes, or for use with water-resistive gypsum sheathing.

The product is compatible with damp substrates and can withstand immediate rainfall. Because the product cures quickly, it allows contractors to install windows within hours of application. This makes it ideal for new construction and restoration projects, which involve flashing rough openings.

“Complex window rough openings have become more common due to the addition of continuous insulation to meet the 2012 and 2015 International Energy Conservation Codes,” said Richard Martens, Marketing Manager for BASF’s Wall Systems. “MAXFLASH can be used on its own or as part of a BASF Exterior Insulation and Finish System – E.I.F.S. or insulated stucco system.  Either way, MAXFLASH helps contractors quickly and efficiently install flashing membranes and an air/water-resistive barrier prior to application of exterior claddings.”
