CONSTRUCT is known for linking thousands of industry leaders to procure real-world, practical knowledge for building success.  This goal is the basis for the partnership between CONSTRUCT and Let’s Fix Construction.  You can read the LFC blog at LetsFixConstruction.com.

According to Sylvia Wofford, Marketing Manager for CONSTRUCT, “CONSTRUCT is enthusiastic about partnering with industry leaders by being an official endorser of Let’s Fix Construction.  We feel this partnership will help spread the message of collaboration and resolution to problems that are faced in the construction industry.  CONSTRUCT wants to help proliferate solution messages through this partnership.”

The mission of Let’s Fix Construction (LFC) is to bring all disciplines from the built environment (specifier, architect, engineer, contractor, facility manager, product representative, manufacturer and owner) together to offer collaborative insight, knowledge and positive forward-thinking, throw out the box solutions to problems which we face every day in Architecture, Engineering and Construction.  LFC was co-founded by two AEC professionals from opposite coasts.  Eric D. Lussier of Precision Athletic Surfaces, hailing from the East and Cherise Lakeside of Ankrom Moisan Architects, representing the West.  Having met through the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Eric and Cherise decided to do more than just talk about issues plaguing the industry and began this effort toward change.  That’s how LFC came about.

The Let’s Fix Construction stable of respected, knowledgeable AEC professionals is growing monthly and represent all areas and disciplines in the AEC industry.  Presently featuring over twenty writers, some of them include CSI members Sheldon Wolfe, Elias Saltz, Keith Robinson, Michael Riscica, Randy Nishimura, Lori Greene and Marvin Kemp in addition to Eric and Cherise.

“I am thrilled to forge a relationship between CONSTRUCT and Let’s Fix Construction.  I have worked with the Informa team extensively over the last four years on Young Professionals Day, the Education Advisory Council and other speaking opportunities and events for CONSTRUCT.  I am impressed with their commitment to providing an event that meets the needs of many disciplines at many levels.  They listen!  With a common goal of bringing all disciplines in our industry together with an equal seat at the table – we felt this relationship was a no brainer.” – Cherise Lakeside

“It is an honor and a privilege to be able to work in partnership not only with Cherise to deliver a Let’s Fix Construction workshop lunch and another educational session in Providence, RI, but also to be able to partner LFC with CONSTRUCT.  The chance to partner LFC with Informa was an easy decision to make, as we both have a goal to assist the building project team with real-world educational solutions.” – Eric Lussier

About the Founders of LFC
Eric D. Lussier CSI, CDT is in his eleventh year as an indoor sports flooring Trusted Advisor, now with Precision Athletic Surfaces based in Vermont. He is the current President of CSI Vermont and a present  member of the CONSTRUCT Advisory Council.  Mr. Lussier is very active in the AEC digital community through outlets such as Social Media and Blogging.  Mr. Lussier states, “It is incredible in this day and age how a concept can go from idea to fruition in such a brief period of time.  Let’s Fix Construction went from a “What if?” to a published site with content in an afternoon’s time and I could not be happier with the way it has been accepted across the industry.  Within a year’s time we have been nominated for two “best of” construction blogs and none of it would be possible without each of our contributors and what they freely offer.  It’s been an honor to have one passing idea carve out an industry niche that so many have flocked to.”

Cherise Lakeside, CSI, CDT is a Specifier at Ankrom-Moisan Architects in Portland, Oregon.  She is currently a Director-at-Large on CSI’s Board of Directors.  Ms. Lakeside is actively involved in Young Professional Development, AEC Social Media, public speaking, blogging and AEC education.  Cherise is known in the Twitter world as the #CSIKraken.  Ms. Lakeside shares, “Having worked in Architecture, MEP Engineering and Construction, I have had the unique opportunity to see common industry issues from three different lenses.  The revelation in this experience was that we are not doing a good enough job of sharing knowledge and understanding how others work.  It drives me crazy!  I have a passion for finding productive ways to improve that lack of collaboration to obtain better results.  The opportunity to help create Let’s Fix Construction, a space where we can all come together, was something I couldn’t even consider passing up.”

CONSTRUCT 2017, held September 13-15th at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.
