Icynene, a manufacturer of spray foam insulation, announced that its low-VOC, closed-cell spray-foam product Icynene ProSeal has received UL Greenguard Gold certification from UL Environmental.

The certification follows Icynene’s recent introduction of one-hour trades re-entry and two-hour re-occupancy for the ultra-low-VOC product. With the certifications, ProSeal can contribute points in established green-building programs, comply with local building code or ordinance criteria, and  meet indoor air quality requirements, the company says.

UL Greenguard-certified building materials are recognized and referenced by more than 400 federal purchasers, retailers, green-building rating tools, and building codes around the world, Icynene says.

Icynene ProSeal possesses a core density of 2.4 lb, offers an R-value of R7.1 per inch and, as a closed-cell spray foam product, is recognized by FEMA as a flood-resistant material, the company says.

Icynene, Mississaugua, Ontario, is a supplier of light-density open-cell and medium-density closed-cell SPF used as insulation and air-barrier materials for improved indoor air quality and reduced energy use.
