The Whitney Hotel is a new, 65-room boutique hotel in Boston’s Beacon Hill. Named after prominent industrialist and former owner Henry Melville Whitney, the project comprises the historic John Jeffries House, originally constructed in 1908 as nurses’ housing for Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. The building was reconfigured, renovated, and expanded with a four-story addition on an adjacent parking lot that includes an additional 21 hotel rooms, the main entrance, and lobby. It also houses Peregrine, a Mediterranean restaurant/bar by an award-winning owner duo.

The Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School expansion by Wheeler Kearns Architects was presented with three Design Excellence Awards from AIA Chicago at its virtual ceremony on Friday November 13. LMN Architects is pleased to celebrate the opening of the Plant Sciences Building at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. The latest addition to the V. Lane Rawlins Research and Education Complex, the $66 million building was funded by the Washington State Legislature. The project is a state-of-the-art building for collaborative research and is intended to support regional and global agriculture. The 82,437-square-foot building supports Washington’s $51 billion food and agriculture industry by providing a modern research venue for faculty and students in the Institute of Biological Chemistry, WSU’s Molecular Plant Science Program, and portions of the Departments of Horticulture, Plant Pathology, and Crop and Soil Sciences.

FMA/AAMA/WDMA 2710-20, Guidelines for the Full Frame Replacement of Windows without Removal of Exterior Brick Veneer, covers the replacement of windows in residential and light commercial buildings of not more than three stories above grade in height, utilizing a membrane/drainage system, a surface barrier drainage or a wall system without a reliable membrane drainage system.
