The U.S. Green Building Council will hold its inaugural Build it Better: Jersey City conference on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 at the Liberty House, 76 Audrey Zapp Dr., Jersey City, NJ 07305. The conference will unite green building leaders across New England and the Mid-Atlantic for the first event of its kind in the region.
Designed for green building professionals and advocates, the conference will focus on topics and issues facing local and regional communities around building performance, including resiliency to natural disasters, and how sustainable development impacts human health.
The conference will feature a keynote from USGBC president and CEO Mahesh Ramanujam, and short 20-minute presentations from business and sustainability leaders across the region. The region is home to two of the largest markets in the country for green construction, New York City and Boston, and one of the highlights of the conference is a morning session featuring Gina Bocra, Chief Sustainability Officer at the New York City Department of Buildings, who will present an update on the state of green building in New York City and across the state.
