JCJ Architecture recognized for its Fairchild Wheeler Inter-District Magnet Campus design

JCJ Architecture was recently recognized with the 2016 James D. MacConnell Award for its design of the Fairchild Wheeler Inter-District Magnet Campus. Presented by the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), this prestigious award recognizes a comprehensive planning process and responsive educational design that serves the needs of students, educators, and communities. The project is the first in New England to be accorded this honor.

PPG completes nearly 60 COLORFUL COMMUNITIES projects in 2016

PPG has donated more than 9,300 gallons (about 35,200 liters) of its paint and coatings, and provided more than $1.5 million in funding, for nearly 70 projects completed since the program’s launch in 2015. Additionally, more than 3,400 PPG and community volunteers have donated around 17,400 volunteer hours to help brighten communities by painting, repairing, cleaning and helping in other ways. To date, the program has positively impacted more than 1.8 million people in 20 countries.

Iconic U.S. Steel Tower earns ENERGY STAR certification

The tallest structure between Chicago and Philadelphia is the 64-floor U.S. Steel Tower in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, which also ranks as the 7th largest high-rise office building in the United States by square footage. Through a series of retrofits to improve its energy efficiency, the iconic skyscraper built in 1970 recently achieved ENERGY STAR certification.
