Registration opens for ACI 24 Hours of Concrete Knowledge conference

The American Concrete Institute (ACI) along with ACI international chapters and partners will host “24 Hours of Concrete Knowledge,” a free conference that will bring the worldwide concrete community together. The event starts on July 13, 2021 and will complete a trip around the world with visits to 12 Chapters and 12 Partners to learn from their concrete experts for 24 continuous hours.

National Association of Broadcasters headquarters at One M, D.C., features Rockfon ceiling systems

An 11-story, 118,000-square-foot, Class A office building, One M was developed by Monument Realty as a built-to-suit project for The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. Serving 150 NAB employees and its membership, Hickok Cole Architects created the interiors for the new headquarters, and selected a combination of Rockfon ceiling systems to support the building project’s sustainability and aesthetic goals, and to achieve the critical balance of light and sound appreciated by broadcasters.

The recently completed Dallas County South Dallas Government Center designed by KAI, thoughtfully combines the amenities of a modern, sustainable facility with a socially conscious design emphasizing justice equality. “An emerging theme on how architecture and the construction process can speak towards the inequities of our society has evolved. William McDonough + Partners celebrates the opening of “Project Legacy,” the landmark 20,000 square meter building designed by William McDonough + Partners for Universidad EAN (UEAN) in Bogotá, Colombia. Instruction in the building will center on Cradle to Cradle and Circular Economy principles, but Project Legacy has already become a “living lab” for sustainability, and has proven, in conjunction with the University, the City of Bogotá, and local construction and building materials industries, that green building projects can support Circular Economy ecosystems.

HED completes new med/surg unit at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center

The St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center has opened a new med/surg unit in Brighton, Massachusetts designed by HED. Led by the design team at HED, and working closely with our engineering partners from BR+A, this new med/surg unit adds 16 patient beds, including 2 isolation rooms, to the hospital’s existing 140 med/surg bed count.
