Following the launch of its Dekton XGloss Series, reflective and durable surfacing, Dekton by Cosentino has expanded its color offerings to include three new colors in the XGloss Naturals collection, and Trilium, a color made from recycled materials.
Trilium is a color manufactured from materials recycled from its own production process. This is the first time Dekton by Cosentino has used recycled materials in its manufacturing process. Unlike the material that inspired it, according to the company Trilium is incredibly smooth to the touch and impervious to the elements, scratches, stains, UV rays and temperature shock. Trilium captures the visual texture and color variation of aged and oxidized stainless steel with hues ranging from deep grays and blacks to rusty undertones, which the company says give it an incredibly genuine appearance.
“Whether it’s in a transitional palette or one that skews industrial chic, Trilium instantly adds weathered appeal so distinct that it commands attention,” says Lorenzo Marquez, VP of Marketing for Cosentino North America. “Its beauty is already inspiring the design community to embrace the unlimited potential of its applications in both commercial and residential spaces, and its appeal is only heightened by its eco-friendly makeup.”
While Trilium is currently the only color from Dekton that uses recycled material, Marquez says more will follow. It’s the latest addition to the Dekton Tech collection, which also includes Keranium, Kadum, Strato, Keon and Blanc Concrete.
Dekton by Cosentino has also expanded its color offerings in the XGloss Naturals collection adding three new sleek colorways that offer a modern take on what Cosentino says is some of the most sought-after marbles. According to the company, the pronounced yet simplified veining in a high-lacquer finish is an industry first – capturing the allure of natural stone but with the ultimate durability and performance that are truly unique to Dekton:
- Glacier embraces delicate warm veining with creamy undertones.
- Fiord features the subtle contrast between shades of white, cream and gray.
- Tundra takes inspiration from ancient marble, combining crème and ocher hues with negative space suited for traditional and contemporary palettes alike.
“Both designers and homeowners are putting a greater emphasis on durability and ease of care when it comes to their material selections,” says Lorenzo Marquez, VP of Marketing for Cosentino North America. “Cosentino has developed advanced technology that captures the depth, drama and beauty of stone but in a material that’s ultra-resilient against everyday use. The aesthetic and performance of Dekton go hand in hand.”
The company stated that Dekton’s durability makes it suitable for an array of indoor and outdoor applications, including countertops, façades, cladding, flooring, stairs and more. It is available in large format, which allows for seamless creative possibilities for architects and designers.
About Dekton® by Cosentino
Dekton is made using a proprietary process called Particle Sintering Technology (PST), an accelerated version of the change that rocks and stone undergo in nature when subjected to heat and pressure over thousands of years. The result: an ultra-compact surface with superior technical characteristics, including resistance to UV, scratches, stains, thermal shock and very low water absorption. Its resistance to thermal shock against heat, frost and thawing allows Dekton to be used in any climate, offering potential for seamless design from indoor to outdoor spaces. Such unique characteristics and durability make Dekton ideal for an array of surface applications, including countertops, vanities, shower walls, flooring, decking, building façades and many other architectural surfaces.
Dekton is offered in large format slabs, measuring 56″ x 126″, and in three thicknesses: 0.8cm, 1.2cm and 2cm. Dekton retails for $65-$130 per square foot installed, depending on thickness, color, and market at Cosentino Centers and kitchen and bath retailers nationwide.
