Vermont Natural Coatings, an independent manufacturer of naturally derived whey-based wood finishes, introduced All-In-One Stain & Finish with Polywhey® Technology.
The product is reported to offer vibrant color, durability, ease of application, neutral odor, soap-and-water cleanup, and “ultra-low” VOCs.
The company also announced the availability of begun a complementary product, the Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner, designed to condition wood to accept stain without blotches or streaks. The product is now being shipped to Vermont Natural Coatings’ independent retail partners.
Vermont Natural Coatings, based in Hardwick, Vt., says it is an environmentally sustainable business producing PolyWhey naturally derived wood finishes without the use of toxic chemicals. PolyWhey is a patented formula using whey, a byproduct of cheese making, as a key ingredient. The PolyWhey formula was developed as a collaboration of farmers, furniture makers and scientists at the University of Vermont as part of an effort to expand the value of Vermont agricultural and forestry industries, the company says.
The PolyWhey line of Interior floor and furniture finishes also includes Exterior Penetrating Stains and Exterior Penetrating Water Proofer Infused with Juniper.
