CBRE study finds San Francisco the nation’s greenest city

Institutional owners of office buildings continued to pursue green building certifications in the 30 largest U.S. markets during 2015. Continuing an upward trend over the past decade, green certifications are now held by 11.8 percent of all surveyed buildings, representing 40.2 percent of all office space. Both figures are slightly above last year’s results, according to the third annual Green Building Adoption Index study by CBRE Group, Inc. and Maastricht University. “Green” office buildings in the U.S. are defined as those that hold either an EPA ENERGY STAR label, USGBC LEED certification or both.

CU Boulder’s Ketchum Arts and Sciences Building retains historical accuracy with Wausau windows

In July 2016, the University of Colorado (CU) Boulder earned LEED® Gold certification through the U.S. Green Building Council for the $9.4 million renovation and renewal of historic Ketchum Arts and Sciences Building. To achieve the project’s aesthetic, sustainability and performance goals, Wausau Window and Wall Systems worked closely with Hord Coplan Macht (formerly Slaterpaull Architects) in Denver, glazing contractor Metropolitan Glass and Fransen Pittman Construction, as well as CU-Boulder.

LMN Architects, a multidisciplinary design firm with a reputation for community-focused and impactful civic projects of all scales, announces the design for Clemson University’s College of Business. The new facility, which replaces the existing Sirrine Hall built in 1938, will be dedicated exclusively to business and related programs. The $87.5 million ($66 million construction cost), 160,000-square-foot project will be located at the heart of the main campus—adjacent to the Alumni Center and facing historic Bowman Field. Accella donates playground surface materials to Trojan Park Playground

Accella Polyurethane Systems is proud to be a participant in the development of the new Trojan Park Playground, located in Wellston, MO. The former vacant lot was completely transformed into a state-of-the-art playground, using an all pour-in-place safety binder thanks to the efforts of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), Great Rivers Greenway, and their contributors.  Through the Parks Build Community initiative, the NRPA selects a location to restore a park in the host city of its annual conference.  This year, the NRPA decided to take on a new challenge – creating a park from scratch for the first time.
