Affordable family housing for artists opens in restored Santa Ana mid-century building

Studio One Eleven has announced the completion of Santa Ana Arts Collective – 58 affordable homes in Santa Ana. Working with Los Angeles-based developer Meta Housing Corporation on their fifth collaboration, Studio One Eleven has adapted a 1965 office building into 100% affordable, studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom live-work lofts. The project design supports the City’s mission of developing Main Street into an arts corridor, said Studio One Eleven Senior Principal Michael Bohn, AIA.

The Sherwin-Williams Company today announced the key external partners it has selected to build its new global headquarters in downtown Cleveland and its new R&D center in the Cleveland suburb of Brecksville. Pickard Chilton Architects, Inc.; HGA Architects and Engineers, LLC (HGA); Vocon Partners, LLC; and Welty Gilbane, are among the key project partners announced in the press release.

Akamai Technologies new global headquarters is designed to achieve both the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Gold certification and the International WELL Building Institute’s certification. The project team included: Boston Properties, Stantec (formerly ADD Inc.), Pickard Chilton, Turner Construction, Northstar Project & Real Estate Services, Acentech Incorporated, and Sasaki. Working closely with Acentech, Sasaki specified Rockfon’s acoustic ceiling systems, which were provided by Merrimack Building Supply and installed by Allan Construction.

Kowalske is the latest addition to the Seven Generations A+E team that has experienced a surge in hiring as a result of continued growth for the firm. New medical and veterinary facilities at Tyndall Air Force Base awarded LEED Silver

The newly modernized and expanded medical clinic and a new veterinary clinic at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla., have been designated LEED Silver by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The $53.4 million design-build project – completed by Hoefer Wysocki and JE Dunn Construction – included extensive renovations to the three-story, 69,044-sq. ft. medical clinic as well as the design and construction of a new 2,267-sq. ft. veterinary clinic, Building 1309, to provide essential care to Military Working Dogs and the pets of military families.

Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery celebrates cross-cultural southern cuisine and craft beer within the former historic Pearl Brewery, an 1890s-era building located in the heart of what is now dubbed the Pearl in San Antonio. Clayton & Little worked to bring the gritty magnificence of the brewhouse back to life while adapting it for contemporary needs. Together with Joel Mozersky Design, the team designed Southerleigh as a 7,600-square-foot restaurant, bar and brewery complex (including 5,000-square foot of combination restaurant and bar and 2,600-square-foot brewery) to reuse brewery equipment and enhance the historic structure.
