Spain’s Loyola University’s integrated campus earns world’s first LEED Platinum certification

luis vidal + architects announced that its newly designed, 312,000-square-foot Loyola University Campus in Seville, Spain, was awarded a LEED Platinum certification. Loyola University is the world’s first integrated campus to receive the highest environmental rating by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The multipurpose facility, designed to accommodate numerous aspects of learning and university life, also aims to be the first “5G Campus” in the world.

FGIA updates Fenestration Sealants Guide

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has updated a technical document intended to aid in the selection, use and application of sealants commonly used in fenestration systems. AAMA 851, “Fenestration Sealants Guide for Windows, Window Walls and Curtain Walls,” an FGIA standard, is the first update to this document, originally published in 2009.

$25.4 million award to Santa Ana’s Legacy Square helps bring affordable TOD apartments

In June, the California Strategic Growth Council approved a $25.4 million award to bring Legacy Square in Santa Ana, CA to fruition.  Designed by SVA Architects, the property located at 609 N. Spurgeon Street is owned by the Santa Ana United Methodist Church.  The Church teamed with National CORE, the City of Santa Ana, and Mercy House to deliver much-needed affordable housing to the downtown area.
