Dodge Momentum Index falls on COVID-19 in April

The Dodge Momentum Index moved 6.0% lower in April to 135.9 from the revised March reading of 144.5. Both components of the Momentum Index pulled back during the month – the commercial component fell 7.6%, while the institutional component dropped 3.2%.

Morphosis to design new lululemon Store Support Centre in Vancouver

Morphosis will design a new corporate home, the Store Support Centre, for lululemon, the healthy lifestyle-inspired athletic apparel retailer in Vancouver, British Columbia. Morphosis will collaborate with L.A.-based architecture and interior design firm Clive Wilkinson Architects and Vancouver-based Francl Architecture for the project. The exterior façade will feature a high-performance brise-soleil system that limits solar heat gain to reduce energy consumption and to modulate the interior building climate for occupants, while also opening views of the surrounding environment.

Sarasota Museum of Art

Partnering with the Ringling College of Art and Design, Sarasota community members had the goal of enhancing the area’s rich cultural landscape by transforming the historic high school building into the region’s first museum dedicated to contemporary art – the Sarasota Museum of Art. The existing windows had all exceeded their life span, and many of them had broken lites, air and water leaks, and they were extremely weak in terms of impact resistance. Lawson Group Architects, Inc. developed a plan to replace these windows, improve the structural integrity of the areas around the windows, and make them weather-proof – all while maintaining the historic design of the building’s facade.

Zaha Hadid Architects has been selected to build the new Shanghai headquarters of the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP).
