In the Municipal category, PPG was honored for its contributions to the Calgary Central Library in Alberta, Canada, which features PPG DURANAR™ coatings on window frames and other extruded components. Designed to evoke snowflakes or cracked ice on a lake, the coatings include two PPG Duranar colors – Bright White and Broken Ice, a custom color topped by a pearlescent clearcoat. Nonresidential building spending to grow through 2020

Construction spending last year was surprisingly weak, but current estimates suggest the industry had a modest increase in 2019, according to a new consensus forecast from The American Institute of Architects (AIA). Retail construction activity was expected to underperform in 2019 but did not see the double-digit percentage declines that were expected. The AIA’s Consensus Construction forecast panel expects similar conditions this year and next.
