FGIA updates Performance Rating Method standard for mulled combination assemblies, more

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has updated a mulled assemblies document. AAMA 450-20, Performance Rating Method for Mulled Combination Assemblies, Composite Units, and Other Mulled Fenestration Systems, was last updated in 2010. This FGIA performance rating method describes procedures and requirements for determining the air leakage, water resistance and structural performance of mulled fenestration systems.

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) will host a webinar entitled “Performance Rating Method for Fenestration Systems and Comparative Analysis Procedure” on Tuesday, January 19 at 11:30 a.m. Eastern. This webinar will cover the enhanced analytical aspects of AAMA 2502, a recently updated FGIA document, and the procedures for evaluating air leakage and water penetration resistance. Participants will also learn about the design pressure performance of mulled fenestration assemblies contained in AAMA 450 – another FGIA document that was also recently updated.

Salt Lake City’s net-zero-energy Fire Station No. 14 earns LEED Gold

In April 2020, Salt Lake City’s Fire Station No. 14 earned LEED Gold certification through the U.S. Green Building Council for its energy-efficient, environmentally responsible design and construction. When it opened in 2018, it was one of the first net-zero-energy (NZE) fire stations in the country, meaning it generates more energy than it consumes.
