The tallest structure between Chicago and Philadelphia is the 64-floor U.S. Steel Tower in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, which also ranks as the 7th largest high-rise office building in the United States by square footage. Through a series of retrofits to improve its energy efficiency, the iconic skyscraper built in 1970 recently achieved ENERGY STAR certification.

On trial for a moisture-related flooring failure — a simulated courtroom experience

After an introduction to the nature of moisture-related flooring problems, attendees will watch and listen to what goes on when a moisture-related floor covering problem ends up in court. Attendees will observe a theatrical courtroom experience where the factors leading up to a flooring failure will be presented and argued. Issues such as the sources of moisture, moisture movement and the adverse effects of moisture on flooring installations will all be presented to help the jury decide who is responsible for the problem.
