WASHINGTON (July 8, 2019) – The ongoing evolution of retail, as well as the growing need for public-private partnerships, are among the many topics that real estate industry experts will be discussing at the Urban Land Institute’s 2019 Fall Meeting, set for September 18-21 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

An Undervalued Asset: Revealing the Role of Retail in Mixed-Use Environments: P.J. Bautista, Retail Design and Construction Manager, JBG Smith Properties, is among the panelists who will share insights on how the design of retail spaces in mixed-use environments can create a sense of space and attract high-value tenants.
Mobilizing the Private Sector for Public Good: Jason Miller, CEO of the Greater Washington Partnership and other panelists will discuss how various cities have formed partnerships with the private sector to create meaningful change through collaborative solutions. This panel will be moderated by ULI Senior Resident Fellow Tom Murphy.
The Lifecycle of Retail-How D.C.’s Retail Districts Are Evolving in Real Time: Panelists will discuss how modern placemaking strategies seek emulate the nature of urban retail, using D.C.’s retail districts and mixed-use developments as case studies.
