IIBEC, the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (formerly RCI, Inc.), is pleased to announce the hiring of Emily Lorenz, PE, as its new Senior Director of Technical Services.
She will represent the association as a liaison to various outside organizations, including supporting its initiatives in relation to building codes and standards. “Emily’s experience as chair of ASTM Committee E60 and as a member of ASTM Committee E06 gives us confidence that she will be a great advocate for IIBEC’s positions on building-enclosure-related issues at code hearings and elsewhere throughout the industry,” stated IIBEC CEO/EVP Brian Pallasch, CAE. “We are excited to welcome her to the IIBEC team,” he added.
“IIBEC will benefit from Emily’s technical experience, as well as her deep knowledge of the code development process,” IIBEC President Bob Card, RBEC, REWO said.
“With experience as editor-in-chief of the PCI Journal, she will also no doubt serve as an asset for technical review of and contribution to content of the Institute’s communications, including IIBEC Interface,” noted Director of Communications Kristen Ammerman.
Lorenz most recently was employed as Director of Sustainability and Publications for the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), and also worked as an independent building enclosure consultant.
Lorenz, with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in structural engineering from Michigan Technological University, is also on the steering committee of the ASCE/SEI Sustainability Committee, as well as a member of ASHRAE.
