WINCHESTER, Va., Aug. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — On Wednesday, August 9, 2017, Kingspan Insulation LLC, a leading manufacturer in energy efficiency and moisture management products, celebrated the commissioning of its new XPS manufacturing line with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
The $25 million expansion at the Winchester plant is a part of Kingspan’s growth strategy for the North American market. The new XPS insulation line doubles the plant’s manufacturing capacity of its GreenGuard insulation product range, and will allow Kingspan Insulation to continue to service current customers and expand into new products and market segments.
Kingspan Insulation also announced the purchase of an additional 7.3 acres of land adjacent to the current plant location, a $1.1 million investment.

The Winchester plant was originally built in 1980, and has been through several expansions. In 2016, 74% of the total energy used in the Winchester plant came from renewable resources. In addition to economic and community development, Kingspan aims to be a sustainable business and announced earlier this year that its goal is to achieve net zero energy by 2020 in all its locations.
