Sherwin-Williams last month announced the introduction of new Emerald® Rain Refresh™ Exterior Acrylic Latex with Self-Cleaning Technology™, a coating designed to be self-cleaning by shedding dirt upon contact with rain or water, and Emerald® Designer Edition Interior Latex™.
According to Sherwin-Williams, the new Emerald® Rain Refresh™ Exterior Acrylic Latex with Self-Cleaning Technology™ has optimal application properties as well as the following features: UV and weather-resistant qualities, self-priming application, suitable for most exterior surfaces, and has the ability to tint in VinylSafe® paint colors. “Exterior painting can be a time-consuming task, and typically requires constant maintenance against outdoor elements,” said Rick Watson, director of product information and technical services at Sherwin-Williams. “Emerald Rain Refresh easily washes away dirt to make upkeep easier and achieve a cleaner look to increase curb appeal.”
The Emerald® Designer Edition Interior Latex includes 200 colors — including brighter whites — within five new designer color collections. “We listened to our designer customers, who have been asking for brighter whites, just-right blues and greens, complex grays and beiges, and more muted tones of classic hues. What we’ve created perfectly rounds out our current selection of neutral options and chromatic colors,” says Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams. “Beyond color, our new formula helps achieve a showstopping transformation.”
Classic + Collected
The Classic + Collected palette establishes vibrance and sophistication with a mix of charming hues that are perfect for designers and everyone who loves color. With colors such as Barely Pear SW 9666 and Azure Tide SW 9684, this palette offers soft shades of muted pastels that span the rainbow.

Form + Function
The Form + Function palette is made up of organic, Earth-drawn neutrals that set the scene for an artful space and feel true to nature. Fresh, warm whites such as Arrowroote SW 9502 answer the call for goanywhere light shades, while deep browns and shades of putty, like Warm Winter SW 9506, add warmth.
Minimal + Modern
