The ninth annual Student Design Challenge seeks best-in-class interior renderings
CLEVELAND (Feb. 4, 2019) – The 2019 Sherwin-Williams Student Design Challenge is now open and accepting residential and commercial project submissions through March 15. The annual competition challenges current students to create award-winning interior design projects for a chance to win cash prizes and receive national recognition from Sherwin-Williams.
“At Sherwin-Williams, we understand the importance of supporting the next generation of interior designers, and we’re pleased to encourage students by offering resources to help them succeed in this exciting industry,” said Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams. “I continue to be inspired by the level of creativity we are seeing from designer students, and I look forward to judging the entries again this year.”
The 2019 judging panel includes Wadden, Patti Carpenter in the residential design category and Martyn Lawrence Bullard in the commercial design category. Carpenter is a principal at Carpenter + Company/Trendscope, a handmade textiles business, and a Global Trend Ambassador for Maison & Objet Paris and America. Bullard is the principle and owner of Martyn Lawrence Bullard Design, an award-winning interior design firm with work published in Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, The New York Times and Los Angeles Times.

Second, include at least three Sherwin-Williams colors in the palette. Finally, write a thoughtful description of the project that includes an explanation of how color contributes to the design. There is no fee to enter.
