AAMA’s brochure addresses a wide range of products, components, applications and current industry standards. To identify products that have been certified to meet rigorous performance standards, “Caring for Your Windows, Doors and Skylights” also illustrates AAMA’s gold label. The AAMA Certification Program establishes a quality assurance program available to window, door and skylight manufacturers. The AAMA Certification Label tells customers that a sample of the product has been verified as conforming to the standards’ requirements through independent laboratory testing and follow-up on-site inspection of the manufacturer’s production line.

Dean Lewis of AAMA passes away

“Dean Lewis was one of a kind. He gave AAMA 19 years of his time, knowledge and expertise, and we are a better organization for it. We called him ‘Dean the Answers Man,’ and lucky for us all, he was always willing to share his wisdom, whether it benefitted long-time experts or those new to the industry. We miss him terribly, and our thoughts are with his wife, Terri, and the rest of his family and loved ones,” said AAMA President and CEO Rich Walker.

Daylighting information previously included as a fact sheet has been updated and posted as a web page by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA). This daylighting-focused web page focused on daylighting and energy savings addresses key differences between fenestration products installed primarily vertically (windows, doors, curtain walls and storefronts) and those installed primarily overhead [skylights, roof windows and tubular daylighting devices (TDDs)] and their relation to daylighting and energy savings.
