Tubelite Inc. launches a new 400 4-Side SSG Cassette Series glazing system for building envelopes in low- and mid-rise commercial curtainwall applications, such as retail centers, offices, health care facilities and schools. The aluminum-framed, factory-fabricated and factory-glazed system is field installed into the curtainwall grid with 2.5-inch interior sightlines and the strength of variable-depth back members in sizes from 5-5/8- to 10-inches.

A bridge will connect the student drop-off area to the new 3-story steel structure clad in brick, cast stone and glass curtainwall. Inside, sunlit common areas will encourage informal gathering, conference rooms will house group meetings and a grand stair will serve as amphitheater seating as well as connecting the first and second levels. Classroom spaces with moveable, writable walls will help to integrate science, technology, engineering, arts and math studies.

The recently opened University of California Los Angeles’ Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center (UCLA Luskin Conference Center) sets a new standard for conference centers and hotels, not just in a campus setting, but for the hospitality industry as a whole. Last year, the $162 million building earned LEED® Platinum certification and is considered one of the most sustainable hotels in the United States. Supporting UCLA Luskin Conference Center’s sustainability goals, acoustic performance and access to natural light were key contributors. Windows dominate the conference center’s lobby and meeting rooms, flooding the interior with sunshine.
