FGIA and AVFQ finalize collaboration agreement

An official agreement for collaboration between l’ Association de vitrerie et fenestration du Quebec (AVFQ) and the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has been finalized, allowing for the development of mutual synergies that will enable both organizations to best support their respective members. AVFQ and FGIA agreed to collaborate by sharing information and offering reciprocal benefits and services to members in the areas of education, advocacy, technical standards, research and product certification.

Registration now open for FGIA Virtual Annual Conference

Registration is now open for the 2021 FGIA Virtual Annual Conference, which will be held Feb. 23-25. “FGIA owes its success and recognition in the industry to the time, energy, and talent of our members. FGIA updates Performance Rating Method standard for mulled combination assemblies, more

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has updated a mulled assemblies document. AAMA 450-20, Performance Rating Method for Mulled Combination Assemblies, Composite Units, and Other Mulled Fenestration Systems, was last updated in 2010. This FGIA performance rating method describes procedures and requirements for determining the air leakage, water resistance and structural performance of mulled fenestration systems.

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has released a new skylight document. AAMA SKY-3-20, Skylight Selection and Daylighting Design Guide including Unit Skylights, Tubular Daylight Devices (TDD) and Sloped Glazing, was developed in 2020. This comprehensive, 51-page document is now available as a complimentary download available to the public.

January 19 FGIA webinar to cover performance rating for fenestration systems, comparative analysis procedure

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) will host a webinar entitled “Performance Rating Method for Fenestration Systems and Comparative Analysis Procedure” on Tuesday, January 19 at 11:30 a.m. Eastern. This webinar will cover the enhanced analytical aspects of AAMA 2502, a recently updated FGIA document, and the procedures for evaluating air leakage and water penetration resistance. Participants will also learn about the design pressure performance of mulled fenestration assemblies contained in AAMA 450 – another FGIA document that was also recently updated.

December FGIA Industry Update to market studies now available

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has released a second updated industry market study in the FGIA Industry Update of the U.S. Market for Residential and Non-residential Windows, Doors and Skylights. This report is an updated overview of the reports released by the association in May and a prior update released in September. New forecasts included in this update are based on projections of construction activity as of December 2020, including a consensus of current economic and construction forecasts along with input from a sampling of industry participants on year-to-date shipments.

FGIA updates test method for vertical fenestration installation procedures

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has updated a test method evaluating the performance and durability of the integration of a fenestration product with a building envelope. AAMA 504-20, Voluntary Laboratory Test Method to Qualify Vertical Fenestration Installation Procedures, was originally created in 2005. This is its first update.
