181 Fremont designed by Manus Heller Architects, a 57-story office and condominium tower sheathed in Solarban® 70 glass by Vitro Architectural Glass, was named San Francisco’s top building of the decade by the San Francisco Chronicle. Working with Hartung Glass Industries, Seattle, a member of the Vitro Certified™ Network of glass fabricators, Vitro Glass supplied more than 6,000 insulating glass units (IGUs), including hundreds of differently shaped triangles, gables and other shapes to Benson Industries, the building’s curtainwall designer, engineer and installer.

The transparent low-e glass kit contains insulating glass units (IGUs) with Solarban® 60, Solarban 70XL, Solarban 67, Solarban R100 and Solarban 90 coatings on clear, Acuity™ low-iron and Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass substrates. The 4-page booklet contains performance data for Acuity glass in 1-inch insulating glass units (IGUs) with Vitro Glass’s full range of Solarban® solar control, low-emissivity (low-e) glasses, and for a standard monolithic ¼-inch (6-millimeter) configuration. Detailed product descriptions for Acuity glass with Solarban 60, Solarban 67, Solarban 72, Solarban 90 and Solarban R100 glasses also are provided, along with information about fabrication capabilities and glass dimensions. New Holtec International headquarters features glass fabricated by J.E. Berkowitz

J.E. Berkowitz (JEB) announced the completion of Holtec International’s new corporate headquarters on the company’s 50-acre Krishna P. Singh Technology Campus in Camden, New Jersey. Built on the former site of the New York Shipbuilding Corp., the seven-story building features 58,000 square feet of glass fabricated by JEB, and is serving as a catalyst for the redevelopment of the surrounding area. For the project, JEB fabricated Winduo™ insulating glass units (IGUs) in multiple configurations, featuring low-e Solarban® 60 glass and performance-tinted Pacifica® glass by Vitro Architectural Glass. JEB also fabricated IGUs incorporating Solarban 60 glass and clear glass with a ceramic frit in a custom tropic blue color. R.A. Kennedy & Sons served as the contract glazier for the project.
