Tarkett, the worldwide leader in innovative and sustainable flooring and sports surface solutions, announced today that two of their product collections have received the GreenCircle Material Ingredient LEED v4 Compliance certification. Tarkett is the first company in the flooring industry to receive this certification. As part of Tarkett’s continued efforts for transparency and material health, the products, Tandus Centiva Victory® Series Luxury Vinyl Tile and Johnsonite iQ homogenous flooring, have gone through a rigorous third party audit process to achieve certification.
In conjunction with Tarkett’s recently announced Material Health Statement assessment, the GreenCircle certification is conducted in compliance with Clean Production Action’s How to Use Greenscreen to Contribute to LEED v4 document and the USGBC’s LEED Rating System requirements. “GreenCircle is excited to certify Tarkett as an industry leader in the Material Ingredient Reporting space. With LEED 2009 sun setting at the end of October, it is critical to provide builders and architects with material disclosure documents that will help them to achieve credits in the more stringent LEED v4. With their LEED v4 Compliance Certification for their Material Health Statements, Tarkett is utilizing third party certification to provide clear and compliant data to meet LEED v4 requirements. Tarkett has set themselves apart in the green building marketplace with this certification that verifies and ensures their compliance with LEED v4,” Annie Bevan, Vice President, Certification Services.
“We are thrilled to be the first in the industry to receive the GreenCircle certification. This certification speaks to Tarkett’s commitment to creating the most sustainable flooring solutions to meet consumer’s needs,” Diane Martel, Vice President, Environmental Strategy and Planning for Tarkett North America. “To ensure full visibility and conformance to LEED MR credit 4 option 1 we decided to partner with GreenCircle to give our customers a tool that distinguishes our MHS’s meet the requirements of this credit.”
