Experienced architect brings extensive project management skills to the firm’s complex science and technology projects
BOSTON – May 17, 2018 – TRIA, a partner-led architecture firm with a focus on science and technology organizations bringing new discoveries to the market, is pleased to announce that Anthony (Tony) Morra, AIA, LEED AP, has joined the firm as a senior project manager. Tony brings more than 30 years of experience in project management, architectural design, and client communications to TRIA, where he will be responsible for leading project delivery and managing client relationships for the firm’s science and technology projects.
TRIA’s design team leverages its own research practitioner experience and first-hand knowledge of scientific organizations to bring equal parts scientific rigor and focused client service that result in innovative design solutions. Using both technology tools and a progressive “form follows culture” design philosophy, TRIA holistically integrates lab design and interior design to transform spaces into beautiful, functional centers that help companies thrive.
“Tony brings a depth of design and project management experience with a proven track record of superior client service to his role at TRIA,” said Sherwood Butler, co-founder and managing principal of TRIA. “His passion for managing client relationships aligns perfectly with our commitment to our clients. His expertise in sustainability, outstanding leadership qualities, and attention to detail enable him to deliver projects with exceptional design intent, on time and within budget. We are thrilled to welcome Tony to our growing design team.”
Prior to joining TRIA, Tony held project architect and project management positions at several Boston-area design firms, where he led the successful completion of numerous academic projects, many with a science and lab design focus. With the rise of incubator and collaborative spaces, industry and academic research has become more similar, making for easy transition into corporate biotech and pharmaceutical design. His academic science facility portfolio includes an interdisciplinary science building at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, an engineering/science building at the Mississippi State University in Starkville, and an undergraduate science building at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina.
Tony received a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. A LEED AP certified professional and registered architect in Massachusetts, he is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Boston Society of Architects (BSA).
