(NYSE: SLCA) announced February 8, that its Industrial and Specialty Products business has increased prices for the majority of its non-contracted silica sand, cool roof granule, aplite and specialty products used primarily in glass, foundry, paints, coatings, elastomers, roofing, chemical, recreation, building products and other applications. The increases were effective for shipments after January 1, 2018. Price increases will range from 4 to 14 percent, depending on the product and grade. The price increases are being made to support the continued investment the Company is making in upgrading its capacity to meet the growing demand for its products and to offset rising production costs.
