A start-up paint manufacturer in Georgia says its paint comes off about as easily as it goes on.

Off-the-Wall Paints, Cedartown, Ga., says this interior latex paint is “fully removable.” When a paint remover is applied, the company says, the surface can simply be wiped clean with no damage, trace or residue.

The product is available for sale to businesses, distributors and consumers.

Off-the-Wall paint inventor Delaine Rogers, a special-education teacher with a chemistry degree, says the product was formulated for use in special-needs classrooms. But she quickly sensed the potential for a wider market.

“I saw a need to create environments where students would excel and respond and I wasn’t able to give them what they needed,” Rogers said.  With the removable paint, “you can change the classroom to meet the needs of the students whenever you want. I see this being used on military bases, in dorm rooms and apartment complexes. The sky’s the limit, really,” she said.
