Carr Properties, together with the Arlington County Board, and project team members MTFA Architecture and Clark Construction, broke ground on 2311 Wilson Boulevard, a 175,000 square-foot, 8-story, LEED Gold certified trophy office building located in the Clarendon-Court House neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia. The completed project will be anchored by OPower’s corporate headquarters.

“We are thrilled to be starting construction of 2311 Wilson and are excited to deliver a cutting edge building in the heart of the R/B Corridor. Our development team at Carr, working together with MTFA design and Clark Construction, will make this a very special project. We welcome our initial tenant, OPower, and look forward to a very successful project,” said Oliver Carr, III, CEO of Carr Properties.

Designed by MTFA Architecture, 2311 Wilson Boulevard adds a strong modern presence across from Courthouse Metro with a signature glass tower and a two-story glass entry lobby. “For many years, this underdeveloped site incubated numerous businesses like MTFA Architecture and will now fulfill a higher purpose,” said Michael Foster FAIA, an investor and managing principal of MTFA Architecture. “It is great to partner with Carr Properties on this redevelopment to achieve the highest office building standards in the marketplace. The design emphasizes sound corporate citizenship in the urban context with a vibrant retail base and state-of-the-art curtainwall facing the commercial transit-oriented urban district to the south, while providing softer stepped balconies overlooking the park and tree canopy with unobstructed views of DC to the north.” Expansive 24,800-square-foot floor plates with column-free spacing and light-filled interiors offer flexibility and the highest quality in office environments.

Amenities at 2311 Wilson Boulevard include a fully wired conference facility with cutting edge A/V, childcare facility with an outdoor play area, state-of-the-art executive health club, expansive 5,900-square-foot rooftop terrace featuring panoramic views and bocce court, distinctive urban park, secure bike center, and exceptional on-site retail options.

Centrally located one block away from the Metro’s Orange and Silver Lines, 2311 Wilson Boulevard offers easy access to Route 50, I-66, and Route 29/Lee Highway and is surrounded by a dynamic mix of restaurants, retail, hotels, entertainment and civic amenities.

Construction is underway and slated for completion at the end of 2017.
