Engineering students populate Coscia Moos adaptive reuse of Philadelphia’s Bulletin Building
Philadelphia’s mid-century Bulletin building, known as One Drexel Plaza, has been renovated by Coscia Moos Architecture and is now home to Drexel Engineering Teaching and Research labs and the Institute for Energy and the Environment. Located primarily on the 55,000-sf second floor, the engineering spaces include wet labs, freshman teaching spaces, faculty research labs and offices, and a large machine shop to support the freshman engineering curriculum. In addition to Coscia Moos, the design team included Ververelli MEP engineers, Cooke Brown structural engineers and BEAM lighting consultants.

The University’s long-range plans involve a fourteen-acre innovation neighborhood adjacent to Drexel’s main campus and Amtrak’s 30th Street Station. Construction of a public park in front of the Bulletin Building is the first step in creating an engaging front door to Drexel’s campus.
