Regan Shields Ives, senior associate at Finegold Alexander Architects, Boston, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Boston Preservation Alliance.
The decision recognizes Shields Ives’ “leadership, dedication, and contributions to preservation through her professional work and advocacy as a member of the Boston Preservation Alliance,” the firm said.
Shields Ives will serve as an ambassador, continuing the legacy of advocacy and education, the firm said. She previously served on the Boston Preservation Alliance Young Advisors Board, and was secretary during her final year on the board.
“The Boston Preservation Alliance has had a long-standing influence on the city and surrounding areas in helping us all to remember, honor and preserve architecture of the past, while keeping a discerning eye out for the future development of Boston,” Shields Ives said.
Shields Ives is a studio leader at Finegold Alexander Architects for educational and cultural projects. Her work has been recognized with awards and has contributed to the preservation of buildings and environments locally and nationally, the firm said.
The non-profit Boston Preservation Alliance works to protect and improve the quality of Boston’s distinct architectural heritage. The alliance provides advocacy and education to influence the future of Boston’s historic buildings, landscapes and communities.
