ATLANTA, GA – For architects and builders, façade construction plays a key role in the design and performance of any building. Kingspan Insulation offers innovative solutions that leverage the latest insulation technology to provide outstanding performance in a wide variety of façade applications. At the first-ever ZAK World of Façades in North America, Kingspan Insulation will focus on the value of space and functionality in façade construction with its Kooltherm K15 premium performance rainscreen insulation board and OPTIM-R next-generation insulation and will participate in a live panel discussion on façade construction for modern architecture.

Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen Board is a premium performance insulation product, faced on both sides with a low emissivity composite foil facing. It is used as insulation for rainscreen cladding systems and it has a higher R-value per inch than commonly used insulation at an R-16 on 2 inches.  The core of Kooltherm K15 has a rigid thermoset fiber-free phenolic insulant, manufactured with a blowing agent that has zero ozone depletion potential and low global warming potential. During World of Façades, attendees will learn about the thermal efficiency and value of space gained by innovative insulation technology such as Kooltherm.

In addition, Kingspan OPTIM-R will be discussed as an innovation to enhance thermal performance of a building. OPTIM-R is a next-generation insulation comprising rigid vacuum insulation panels (VIP) with a microporous core, which is evacuated, encased and sealed in a thin, gas-tight envelope to give outstanding R-values and an ultra-thin insulation solution. The high level of thermal efficiency—up to R-28 on 1 inch—combined with minimal thickness, provides an ideal solution for applications where a lack of construction space or depth is an issue such as commercial roofing.

“Attendees of the World of Façades North America conference will see real-world examples of how Kingspan’s Kooltherm K15 is well suited for the construction sustainable façades with its excellent fire performance properties since it meets NFPA 285,“ said Andrew Wilson, Commercial Manager, Kooltherm and OPTIM-R, Kingspan Insulation North America. “Our portfolio of solutions is designed to enhance the building envelope and maximize the ROI in construction by providing more performance in less space.”

During session two on Thursday, November 15 at 12:05 p.m., Wilson will be participating in the “Innovations in Façade Construction for Modern Architecture” panel discussion which will explore design and material trends of contemporary façade architecture.
