ASLA’s first-ever virtual event, reVISION ASLA 2020, shined a spotlight on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Sessions and marquee discussions examined not only diversity within the profession of landscape architecture, but also the role of landscape architects in addressing issues of racial justice and equitable access in practice and society. Those discussions are now available to the public at no cost.

Videos include:

  • A special, extended edition of the reVISION ASLA 2020 Opening Keynote Discussion featuring ASLA CEO Torey Carter-Conneen, Walter Hood, FASLA, and Majora Carter.
  • The Expression of Hope Panel, which features diverse practitioners sharing their collective acknowledgment of what it is like to navigate the profession as people of color and their expressions of hope for change and growth.
  • A Call to Action, highlighting commitments by practitioners and educators taking meaningful action towards centering equity and calling our community to expand efforts towards a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive profession.

The release comes as ASLA honors Black History Month with the Design Excellence by Black Landscape Architects social media campaign, to celebrate the exceptional work of Black landscape architects and their invaluable contributions to the profession and their communities.
