Customers can more easily meet sustainability goals with View Dynamic Glass

View®, the leader in dynamic glass, has published an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for View Dynamic Glass, verified by UL Environment. The EPD certification, combined with View’s Health Product Declaration (HPD) and Declare® label, provides architects, building owners, developers and other specifiers with independent, third-party verification of environmental performance benefits for View Dynamic Glass.

“Today, leading designers are demanding disclosure about material toxins and environmental impacts as a keystone of good building design. View is actively answering that call via our third party certifications and our ongoing commitment to a triple bottom line product,” said Brandon Tinianov, vice president of business development at View. “We are proud to offer a product that not only helps our customers meet their sustainability goals, but also assists in achieving their occupant health and wellness objectives.”

The EPD for View Dynamic Glass earns points in the LEED® certification process for building projects, specifically the Materials and Resources category of LEED v4, the latest green building standard. View Dynamic Glass can assist in achieving multiple additional credits for high-performance green building certification through reduced energy consumption, increased user controllability and improved thermal comfort and daylighting.

Unlike traditional windows that need blinds or shades, View Dynamic Glass intelligently adjusts in response to the sun’s energy and user preferences, seamlessly transitioning through multiple tint states to improve user comfort and energy efficiency. In a typical installation, View Dynamic Glass reduces annual HVAC and lighting energy consumption by as much as 20 percent, and HVAC peak load by 25 percent.

“The EPD process helps us optimize the environmental footprint of our product and manufacturing process,” said Brian Harrison, chief operating officer at View. “We are pleased to increase the materials transparency of View Dynamic Glass and demonstrate its environmental profile, which support our ongoing efforts to meet the highest level of environmental sustainability and performance standards.”
