Educational Event Centers on the Design of Non-Residential and Multi-Family Wood Buildings

The Wood Products Council’s WoodWorks program will host a free Wood Solutions Fair in Washington, DC on Aug. 29, 2017. Intended for design and building professionals, the fair will include 30 seminars dedicated to the design, engineering and construction of non-residential and multi-family wood buildings. Seminars and speakers will include (among others):

  • More with Less:  An Overview of the First CLT Hotel in the US – Presented by Jeff Morrow, Lendlease
  • Building Enclosure Design: Fundamentals, Components and Assemblies and Advanced Detailing Techniques for Building Enclosures – Presented by Colin Shane. MEng, PEng, RDH Building Science Inc.
  • Off-Site Wood Construction: What, Why, How and the Future – Presented by Randall Walter, AIA, LEED AP, Bensonwood
  • Structural Design of Mass Timber Framing Systems  – Presented by Tanya Luthi, PE, Fast + Epp
  • Sprinklers in Wood-Frame Construction: What Architects and Engineers Need to Know – Presented by Brian D. Kuhn Jr., PE, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc.

Wood Solutions Fair attendance is free.
Education Credits: Attendees can earn up to six AIA/CES HSW LUs or PDH credits.

The Wood Solutions Fair is intended for architects, engineers, developers, code officials and anyone else interested in wood’s exciting design possibilities (in building types that include commercial, industrial, mid-rise/multi-family, schools, restaurants, and others).
