Washington, D.C. – February 24, 2017 – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has selected 14 recipients for the 2017 AIA Young Architects Award.  Young Architects are defined as professionals who have been licensed 10 years or fewer regardless of their age.  This award, now in its 24th year, honors individuals who have shown exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the profession early in their careers.  The Young Architects Award recipients will be honored at the 2017 AIA Conference on Architecture in Orlando.

In 2005 Jeffrey Erwin Huber, AIA, joined the University of Arkansas Community Design Center (UACDC), a think tank that functions much like a teaching hospital for design professionals. At the UACDC Huber expanded his repertoire of placebuilding frameworks to address community issues, including transit-oriented development, agricultural urbanism, and low-impact development, that have radically altered the ways in which practitioners and allied professions work.
