Clayton Korte designed-Potchernick’s Cerveceria breathes new life into what was once San Antonio’s much loved Potchernick’s Sporting Goods store. In business from 1904 to 1991, Potchernick’s held claim as the second oldest continuously operating sporting goods store in the United States. Vacant since it closed, the narrow building (two-hundred-feet long and a mere twenty-eight-feet wide) will be restored, renewed, and reimagined as a combination restaurant and brewery with a new urban paseo that connects the business district with the city’s famed Riverwalk.

Students at South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas finally have the new learning environment they’ve fought for. Following a two-year, $60 million “extreme makeover,” staff and students excitedly returned in January to a completely transformed 68-year-old campus. The district hired KAI to provide programming/planning, architecture, interior design, community engagement, project management and construction administration on the project. The general contractor was Rogers-O’Brien Construction.

KWK Architects has been contracted by global infrastructure consulting firm AECOM to provide architectural programming on a project to renovate the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Sijan Hall north of Colorado Springs.The renovation will be the first modernization project at Sijan Hall since it was built in 1968, with the renovation/modernization to include the hall’s residential, academic, courtyard and recreational spaces. At 700,000-square-feet, Sijan Hall is the second-largest residence hall in the United States with 2,200 beds.
