Johns Manville announced that JM CladStone™ Water & Fire Block is included in a new wall system, Fusion™ 285, specifically designed to meet requirements for achieving the National Fire Protection Association’s NFPA 285, a commercial wall assembly fire test. PPG announced that it received three 2018 Chairman’s Awards from the Metal Construction Association (MCA). PPG received the highest honor for the Emma and Georgina Bloomberg Center at Cornell Tech, which earned the Chairman’s Award for Overall Excellence. Located on New York City’s Roosevelt Island, the building features a metal-panel rainscreen finished with iridescent PPG DURANAR® VARI-COOL® coatings. The rainscreen serves as a protective insulating barrier as well as a color-shifting wall of art for the 160,000-square-foot structure.

Las Vegas Vortex Canopy Creates Striking Structure on the Strip

The canopy was formed from 60,000 square-feet of Engineered Wall System Inc.’s 400 series rainscreen system using ALPOLIC Material’s fire-retardant (FR) core aluminum composite material (ACM). These metal panels feature Sherwin-Williams Coil Coating‘s Valflon® coating in Platinum Mica, Champagne Mica and Silver Metallic. Valflon was the ideal choice for this specific project, as it required a bold look with lots of gloss and shine. Even better, this coating is highly resistant to weathering, airborne chemicals, acid rain and graffiti-removing cleaning solvents.

New York’s The Forge showcases distinctive, copper anodized, aluminum wall panel system
