The theme for the school grew out of the district’s proximity to a growing aviation industry that was experiencing a shortage of technical workers and career specialists in the profession. Overall, the new school embodies the culmination of the program’s evolution – from the curriculum to the site design.

Chicago Union Station’s renovate Great Hall features new skylight finished by Linetec

Soaring 115 feet above the floor, the renovated station’s Great Hall now features a two-tier skylight system: the original restored, 177-foot-long, barrel-vault system and a new, 187-foot long, high-performance system installed approximately five feet above it by Super Sky Products Enterprises LLC. Enhancing the durability and minimizing future maintenance, Linetec finished the new skylight’s aluminum framing in a Bone White, 70% PVDF resin-based architectural coating.

Officials to break ground on new $1.5 billion terminal at Kansas City International Airport

The new terminal, designed by the Chicago, Ill.-based Skidmore, Ownings & Merrill (SOM), will feature 1 million square feet of space and 39 gates, the construction of which is projected to create 5,000 jobs. Nature, technology, and community meet in the concept design of Pittsburgh International Airport’s Terminal Modernization Program

As part of a special board meeting and the annual State of the Airport event, the Allegheny County Airport Authority Board of Directors approved a visionary concept design for the Terminal Modernization Program at Pittsburgh International Airport. The design team joint venture of architectural and engineering firms Gensler and HDR in association with luis vidal + architects, were awarded the design contract in July 2018. They have been studying the Pittsburgh region and taking their inspiration directly from the rolling hills and rivers, neighborhoods and communities, and new economic diversity that has led to Pittsburgh’s re-emergence over the past few decades.

The Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) today celebrated the opening of its new Transportation Center, the first of three major projects to support educational opportunities in the 31,000-student district. Zaha Hadid Architects and A_Lab to design two stations on new Fornebubanen metro line in Oslo

Gianluca Racana, director of Zaha Hadid Architects, said: “It is an honour to be selected by the jury to build two stations in this design competition with many talented architectural practices. The Fornebubanen will be a vital new transport link for the city.” The competition jury assessed anonymous proposals from 14 different teams, stating the design of Fornebu Senter station demonstrated a vibrancy and enthusiasm for designing civic space. The jury also cited the Fornbuporten station proposal as expressing an innovative way of working with light.
