KTGY Architecture + Planning, an international award-winning architecture firm, announced Monday the addition of three new shareholders as well as four associate principals and three directors. With six offices in the U.S. and one in India, these promotions and appointments add strength to the firms expanding services and solidify KTGY’s residential expertise.

Ben Kasdan, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB

Ben Kasdan, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB

Ben Kasdan, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB has been named a shareholder and principal in KTGY’s Tysons, Virginia office. Kasdan has been involved in leading the design and planning of a wide variety of real estate developments located throughout United States. Kasdan’s primary focus is the sustainable design of multifamily, mixed-use, and urban-infill housing developments. He is a frequent speaker and contributor of articles on topics related to sustainable architecture, student housing and multifamily housing. Kasdan formerly held the position of associate principal and joined KTGY in 2003. He is a licensed architect in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Oregon and California.

Ryan Flautz, AIA has been named a shareholder and principal in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Flautz joined KTGY in 2011 and has more than 25 years of residential design and project management experience. Flautz formerly served as an associate principal and has an extensive background in construction documentation and techniques, quality control, staff development and a strong knowledge of federal and state building codes. He is a licensed architect in California.

Nathan Sciarra, AIA, NCARB

Nathan Sciarra, AIA, NCARB has been named a shareholder and principal in KTGY’s Denver office. Sciarra formerly held the position of associate principal and assists with the day-to-day management of the office and leads the design team of multiple multifamily and mixed-use projects from conceptual site planning and product development through construction. Sciarra has been in KTGY’s Denver office since its inception in 2006. Previously, he began his career with KTGY in Irvine focusing on single-family housing in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sciarra has spoken at numerous industry events, written expert articles and has frequently been quoted in industry publications on the latest trends and newest developments in the housing market. He is a licensed architect in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Tennessee, Utah and Washington.

New associate principals named:

Keith McCloskey, LEED AP has been named an associate principal in KTGY’s Los Angeles office. McCloskey’s comprehensive experience spans nearly 20 years and includes the planning and design of multifamily, mixed-use, senior living, civic and aviation projects. His most recent work has been focused on high-density urban infill sites, which provide challenging design opportunities. He has a passion for researching new technologies and building systems, and recently completed one of the largest intensive Eco-Roof installations on an apartment community in Portland, Oregon. McCloskey joined KTGY in 2011 and most recently served as executive director, design.

Kyle Millar, NCARB, located in the firm’s Irvine office, has been named an associate principal. Millar’s architectural experience has been predominantly focused on the residential multifamily sector where he has led design teams for a variety of projects ranging in density from single-family to mid-rise towers.

His deep understanding of the technical project phases beginning at design development, into construction documents and extending through construction administration is a tremendous asset. He has been with KTGY since 2003 and most recently held the position of director, production.

Ben Seager, AIA, LEED AP, located in KTGY’s Irvine office, has been named an associate principal. Seager has been involved in the design, planning and entitlement of a wide variety of residential, mixed-use and senior communities nationwide for nearly 15 years. His creativity and unwavering focus have led to successful and award-winning communities. Seager leads the firm’s service-enriched senior housing studio, which focuses on independent living, assisted living, memory care and life plan communities. He has been with KTGY since 2004 and most recently held the position of director, design.

Sarah Sindian, AIA, NCARB has been named an associate principal in the firm’s Irvine office. Since joining KTGY in early 2003, she has managed a variety of projects from single-family dwellings to high-density podium buildings, urban infill residential and mixed-use developments. With work extending from southern California to northern California, she understands the complexities associated with different regions and jurisdictions. Sindian’s portfolio includes highly successful communities that have benefited from her dedication and problem-solving skills. She most recently held the position of director, production.

New directors named:

Bindiya Agarwal, located in KTGY’s Tysons office, has been named a director, production. Since joining the firm in 2006, she has managed the design and construction of single-family and multifamily residential communities. She formerly served as a senior project manager.

Brian Fraser has been named a director, production in the firm’s Tysons office. Fraser has 12 years of experience in multifamily design and construction and is responsible for all phases of the construction process including design development, code analysis, multi-discipline coordination as well as field and office construction administration. He has been with KTGY since 2010 and most recently held the position of senior project manager.

Leah Pitts, LEED AP has been named a director, production in the firm’s Denver office. Pitts has 15 years of architectural experience and manages multiple projects throughout all phases from schematic design to construction. Pitts excels at maintaining strong client relationships, including analyzing client needs and developing architectural solutions to address those needs. She most recently held the position of project manager and joined KTGY in 2011.
