PPG Industries Inc.’s Pittsburgh Paints & Stains brand announced the launch of the PARAMOUNT™ “super-premium” line of interior and exterior paints and a Paramount exterior stain line, offered exclusively at MENARDS stores.
Vanessa Manz, PPG senior channel manager, Pittsburgh Paints & Stains brand, said the company leveraged PPG’s automotive and industrial coatings technologies in formulating the new paint brand.
The interior and exterior paints are offered in a palette of nearly 900 colors that provide coverage in one coat and provide a high degree of stain blocking, hiding and durability, the company says. Other performance characteristics are resistance to cracking and peeling and ultraviolet (UV) protection, the company says.
The Paramount product line also includes the premium exterior wood care products Paramount Stain, Toner, Advanced Penetrating Oil, and Fine Wood Finish, reported to provide UV protection and mildew and algae resistance. The products are offered in 42 solid and 14 semitransparent and semi-solid colors.
The Advanced Penetrating Oil product contains an optimized blend of oils in four colors that deliver clarity and highly pigmented hues, the company says. The Fine Wood Finish, available in 13 satin semitransparent colors, is reported to produce a varnish-like appearance in exterior applications.
