The Metal Construction Association (MCA) is pleased to welcome Jeff Henry, MBA CAE, as Executive Director, effective June 1, 2020. Henry has cultivated a passion and deep respect for associations over his 30-year career in association management. As a Certified Association Executive (CAE), a title earned by fewer than 5% of association professionals, Henry is a distinguished leader in the association field.

PPG earns two Chairman’s Awards from Metal Construction Association

In the Municipal category, PPG was honored for its contributions to the Calgary Central Library in Alberta, Canada, which features PPG DURANAR™ coatings on window frames and other extruded components. Designed to evoke snowflakes or cracked ice on a lake, the coatings include two PPG Duranar colors – Bright White and Broken Ice, a custom color topped by a pearlescent clearcoat. The coatings were applied by Hydro of Portland. The library was designed by Snøhetta of Oslo, Norway, and DIALOG of Calgary,

PPG honored with three Chairman’s Awards from Metal Construction Association

PPG announced that it received three 2018 Chairman’s Awards from the Metal Construction Association (MCA). PPG received the highest honor for the Emma and Georgina Bloomberg Center at Cornell Tech, which earned the Chairman’s Award for Overall Excellence. Located on New York City’s Roosevelt Island, the building features a metal-panel rainscreen finished with iridescent PPG DURANAR® VARI-COOL® coatings. The rainscreen serves as a protective insulating barrier as well as a color-shifting wall of art for the 160,000-square-foot structure.

PPG today announced that Scott Moffatt, PPG market manager, architectural coil and extrusion coatings, has received the Patrick R. Bush Service Award from the Metal Construction Association (MCA).

Airport tower featuring DURANAR SUNSTORM coatings wins metal design award

The 221-foot tower, designed by Denver-based Fentress Architects, features a metal-and-glass facade twisted into the shape of a torch. The tower is engineered to withstand a magnitude 8.0 earthquake and designed to achieve LEED® certification at the Gold level from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
