Ball breaks ground on new headquarters building in Westminster

Swinerton, general contractor, Stantec, lead architect, and Officescapes, a Steelcase dealer, are helping Ball to reimagine its Colorado campus with an inclusive and collaborative environment in mind. The campus will have a flexible, cooperative work environment between the new four-story building, POC, Ball Technology and Innovation Center (BTIC) and Aerospace Manufacturing Center (AMC), featuring a variety of work spaces including exterior gathering spaces and walkways.

Unique hybrid flooring system for a state-of-the-art chemical processing facility

Pilot Chemical Company’s primary requirements for the new flooring system were that it needed to be chemical resistant, seamless, impact resistant, easily cleanable, and long-lasting. High Performance Systems Corp specified a hybrid flooring system with a basecoat of cement slurry with a broadcast of 40/60 mesh silica, a broadcast coat of a high-solid epoxy with custom flakes, a grout coat of a UV and chemical resistant polyaspartic, and a topcoat of that same polyaspartic with 220 grit aluminum oxide additives. This decorative flooring system combines a fast curing, moisture insensitive, three-component base material with a mosaic broadcast, sealed with a high gloss, UV stable, clear topcoat.

ASID honors top student designers with the 2019 Student Portfolio Competition

The American Society of Interior Designers (​ASID) named the winners of the ​ASID Student Portfolio Competition as part of its ​SCALE National Student Summit held in New York earlier last month. Sponsored by Benjamin Moore, the competition generates the best collection of student design projects in the nation and selects winners and finalists based on conceptual thought, content and quality of submitted work, and the student’s ability to articulate their process. With over 230 engaged students in 2019, the jury selected 12 finalists and five winners.

Construction begins on second phase of mile-long waterfront neighborhood in D.C.

Phase 2 of The Wharf will complete the remaining 1.25 million square feet of new mixed-use development, including office, residential, hotel, marina, and retail space, as well as parks and public places, across a half mile of redeveloped waterfront.
