King County Library System’s Tukwila Library nominated for environmental leadership

Designed by Perkins+Will and constructed by Edifice Construction, the 10,000 square-foot Tukwila Library opened in April 2017, replacing the former Foster Library. The Tukwila Library’s sustainable elements include regionally-sourced wood throughout its interior, native plants for landscaping, and a green roof with heat and drought-tolerant native plants which helps regulate interior temperatures and reduces storm water runoff.

Outside the Lines (OTL), a design-build construction company that specializes in creating one-of-a-kind water features, rockwork and themed environments, has been selected to design and construct a 45-foot tall artificial mountain along with spectacular water features and other themed elements to bring to life the new Butterfly Palladium, a $25 million entertainment destination in the Southern California City of Buena Park.  Butterfly Palladium will be reminiscent of a visit to a tropical Costa Rica-inspired rainforest.
